The C Grade Emus found themselves behind early after an intercept try to Dalby in the rugby grand final.
Forwards Hayden Stehr and Doug McDougall made solid in-roads and then the experienced Ben Todd and Terry Gleeson began to guide the younger Emus around the park. Jardy Dillon and Trent Hohn bent the Dalby defensive often while Ben Leeson carried the ball back strongly. Oscar Radford's mobility proved decisive when the pack surged over the line to score. Seven all at halftime.
The Emus dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half with a rolling try to Trent Raymond and another to the flying Will Troughton who latched onto a magnificent cut out pass from Terry Gleeson. But it wasn't over. A loose ball was toed through by dalby who scored next to the post. Score 19-14. It was a nailbiter with the Wheatmen deep in attack for the remainder. Captain Dough McDougall was named Man of the Match while Coach Scott Bell celebrated back-to-back premierships.
